What Is a Skilled Worker Visa?

This visa allows individuals to live and work in the UK if a licensed employer issues a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for a job that meets eligibility criteria. Once granted, it’s valid for up to 5 years and allows extensions. After 5 years, you may qualify for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).

Eligibility Requirements (Jobs, Salary & English)

You must:

  • Hold a confirmed job offer from a Home Office-approved sponsor (licensed employer)
  • Be filling a job listed on eligible occupations at RQF Level 6 (degree level) or higher
  • Earn the appropriate salary:
      • Standard minimum: £41,700/year
      • If job is PhD-relevant: £37,500/year
      • STEM PhD, new entrants, or shortage roles: £33,400/year
  • Prove English proficiency at CEFR B1 level or above
  • Show maintenance funds (usually £1,270 unless covered by sponsor)

Do You Meet The Minimum Requirements Of The Visa Type That You Want To Apply For?
Answer The Questions Below To Get Your Results.

Are you over the age of 18?

In the UK, a legal presumption exists that entitles anyone to enter into a contract unless an exception applies. One of those exceptions is in the case of a minor. Since 1969 the age of contractual capacity for individuals has been set at 18 and reaching the age of 18 is known as attaining 'majority'. Minors are therefore those who have not attained the age of 18.
